I see no reason to trade either Noel or Jah this summer, wait until you know if Embiid can stay healthy for a season.
They also don't know for sure if Saric is coming over, or how he'll fit.
And they don't know if they're drafting Simmons, Ingram or a guard.

You don't really need to keep Noel, Grant and Holmes if Embiid is healthy, too many shot blockers and only Holmes has any potential of developing a consistent outside shot.
Meanwhile, if Jah keeps expanding his range on his shot, he could partner much better with Embiid or Noel.

That's why I'd be looking to make additions to the backcourt/wing this offseason but refrain from moving a big man.

Of course, if someone "makes you an offer you can't refuse," that's another matter.

To many teams Noel may be just as valuable as Okafor, if not more so. The only really negative about trading for Noel is his contract situation as compared to Okafor's. Noel is a rim protecting big guy who is athletic and can run. Cavs, for example, would kill for him in the playoffs.

I wouldn't trade Noel based on his skillset. He's a defensive difference make IMO...

OK...so far, so good. Now convince Saric to come over quickly, get Joel playing up to potential and spend a mint on veteran point guards (Ages 24-26) who can control the flow and we are going to have some fun. The fans will be back in a blink if the team starts to play quality ball.I am delighted they have given Brown the chance to steer the ship. The kids tried their best, played as hard as they could for him and simply lacked the experience and skills to play "playoff basketball". Surrounded by a good group of Assistant Coaches, I think he will be fine.

Also if we could weasel a high 2nd round pick out of some team I'd like to see Embiid's team-mate selected by the Sixers, Wayne Selden SG, Kansas.

That's kind of a false (and meaningless) statistic considering the Eagles had to trade up twice.

I realize that I should be focusing on the here and now but what now happens to the Lakers and Kings picks now that they have them back this year? Does anyone know?

Lakers pick is top 3 protected for 2017 and unprotected for 2018 and I believe they have the King's #1 pick in 2019 with pick swaps for 2017 and 2018? That's my understanding unless I'm wrong.

As always I respect your opinion, but honestly I think we make the playoffs next year. Assuming they add Embiid, Saric and I hope Ben Simmons plus a FA PG or two and we have a very deep team (although obviously young).

Honestly, if all of that happens I see 45 wins. That is a pretty good team with the players we already have.

The 2017 draft is going to be much better than this year. It would have been great if the Lakers pick was unprotected. With the Sixers luck the lakers will pick first in 2017.

I agree we're pretty decent if we get a top-10 point guard and another good wing shooter. But the better teams in the NBA are really good, and they're adults, not kids. They're tough as nails and don't want you beating them and essentially "stealing" their money and glory. Our guys are talented, but they're kids. At this point we don't have the toughness to win 45 games in the NBA; at least I don't think so. We might sneak into the playoffs, but, as I said above, that depends on us finding (trade or FA) a couple of good guards who are NOT rookies. Not Ish Smith level, but Chris Paul level (but hopefully younger).

Just thrilled about tonight's outcome.
I would absolutely move Okafor in a deal for a guard like Russell or a pick in the 3-5 range.
This team is going to be loaded if Embiid can play. Even if he can't they are going to be really good.
Like that the Lakers pick rolled to next year. We still have the pick swap with the Kings next year and their unprotected first in 2018 I think.

I love the optimism but I'd be happy with 25 wins and Embiid remaining healthy all year. Then add likely 2 top 10 picks in next year"s very strong draft and you've got something here. Hinkie really set this franchise up for the future.
