I started this thread a year ago a week later but I figured I would get it started since minor league teams are in the stretch drives of their seasons. Anyone can feel free to update this one on a daily basis! Magic numbers listed where at least somewhat practicable.

As of August 3, 2017

AAA, Lehigh Valley, International League
Playoff format: Three division winners and best second place team make the playoffs.
Where things stand: IronPigs are in second place 2.5 games behind first place Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the North Division and lead Rochester in the wildcard race by 4.5 games.

AA, Reading, Eastern League
Playoff format: Top two finishers in each division qualify for the playoffs.
Where things stand: Fightin' Phils are in third place 15 games behind first place Trenton in the Eastern Division and 4 games behind second place Binghamton for the wildcard.

Advanced A, Clearwater, Florida State League
Playoff format: Split season in which division winner of first half faces division winner of second half. In the event that the first half champion repeats, the team with the next best overall record gets a playoff berth as a wild card. Tampa won the first half in the North Division.
Where things stand: Tampa likewise leads the second half. Threhers are in third 5.5 games behind Tampa. However, Threshers lead Dunedin by .5 game for the next best overall record, though Dunedin is only 2.5 games behind Tampa in the second half.

Full season A, Lakewood, South Atlantic League
Playoff format: Split season in which division winner of first half faces division winner of second half. In the event that the first half champion repeats, the team with the next best overall record gets a playoff berth as a wild card. Kannapolis won the first half.
Where things stand: Not looking good for the BlueClaws who are currently in last place in the Northern Division for the second half (though only 5 games back) but only 2.5 games behind Greensboro should Kannapolis manage to win the second half title as well (currently 4 games back in second half).

Short season A, Williamsport, New York-Penn League
Playoff format: Three division winners and one wildcard (best second place team).
Where things stand: Crosscutters stand 2 games back of Pinckney Division co-leaders Mahoning Valley and West Virginia and 2 games behind said teams in third place in the wildcard race.

Rookie, GCL Phillies, Gulf Coast League
Playoff format: Four division winners make the playoffs, no wild cards.
Where things stand: GCL Phillies trail the GCL Blue Jays in the Northwest Division by 1.5 games.

Yes, if the season ended today. However, WPT & GCL are very much in contention and REA has a tough fighting chance but still a chance. LKW is the only affiliate for whom I would say the situation is grim.

Reading has a very depleted roster. The Walding-numata collision hurt. Losing Kingery really hurt them. I just don't see it happening. The last Reading game I attended they looked very bad, as in I doubt the present squad can play .500 ball.

If so, we may be seeing that manifest itself. Fightin' Phils have gone 3-7 in their last ten and lost five games in the standings to Binghamton during that time as Binghamton has gone 8-2.

Note: If it is true that Sixto Sanchez is being promoted to Clearwater, it almost seems like a stretch-drive enhancement for the Threshers! The flipside is that it would also be a throwing in the towel for the BlueClaws with the loss of their ace.

Pigs have been a little bit lucky that Rochester has lost a couple in a row of late. As for Reading, I am close to posting the elimination numbers for the Fightin' Phils.

Not a pretty picture right now with LV stumbling (promotions and injuries are taking a toll) and all the other teams fairly unlikely to be in the playoffs.

Therein lies the double-edged sword of all the promotions since midseason. They've really crippled the affiliates as they have lost valuable contributors and replaced them with promotees who have struggled to adjust to their new levels. From Williamsport up to Reading, the affiliates are all probably closer to falling to .500 or below than they are to making the playoffs.

Indeed, the way of the world.

Ben Lively (7-5, 3.15) gave up two earned runs in 6.1 for the IronPigs (69-53), which have dropped nine of 11 and now sit one game back in the wild-card race. On June 8, Lehigh Valley had the best record (41-19 in minor-league ball.
