70 million people voted for somebody with more baggage, more personal corruption, more sheer disgust factor, than Rose. Welcome to reality.
There are millions of people (half our population, more or less) that really doesn't care if somebody is a cretin - a liar, a rapist, a thief, whatever - as long as that person gives them what they personally want. Whether that's a feeling of superiority (own the libs!), or cheaper groceries (as if), or athletic entertainment... as long as they get what they want, they're perfectly happy to elevate, to idolize, human scum.
Yeah, I know; keep the politics out of this. But you can't, if you're honest. It's the same problem. Selfish people with no sense of decency, no sense of obligation to community or society, who just "want what they want," and don't care about what the costs are.
