Altherr coming up with 1 out.

Cards' ineptitude in the field strikes again! Altherr grounds into a would-be double play ball but instead the ball gets away at first allowing Knapp and PIvetta to score!

It's 5-0 Phils.

Single for Joseph but Altherr is thrown out at the plate trying to score from 2nd.

Onto the 5th, it's 5-0 Phils.

Looked pretty clear to me that Altherr would have no chance to score unless the Cardinals made a bad play. Can't expect that every time.

I Pivetta got two outs in the sixth and had a full count. Looked to me that he tried to overthrow the fastball and got it way high and inside for a walk. His first of the game. First pitch to Gyorko hit out for two run home run.

With pitch count of 103, that should be it for Pivetta. Gave up solo homer in fifth and the 2 run shot in the sixth.

Phillies take 5-3 lead to bottom of the sixth.

Well, gasoline alley bullpen out in good form tonight. Garcia had a strong 7th, 2 Ks, 11 pitches, no hits, no walks. Heaven forbid that he be allowed to try a second inning.

Benoit starts off the 8th with a first pitch home run to make it 5-4.

Neris gives up a one out home run to tie the game. A two out foul to left just missed being a go ahead homer.

Going to the bottom of the ninth all tied up 5-5.

Shame to rob Pivetta of a win tonight.

I'm frustrated with the offense. In the sixth, the Phillies got a runner to third with one out. Altherr K'd on a full count and Joseph grounded out to end the inning.

In the seventh, one out singles put runners first and third. Knapp and Kelly K'd to leave them stranded.

uh oh. Herrera asking for a benching as he blows through Juan Samuel's stop sign and is thrown out by a mile trying to score the winning run in the bottom of the 9th.

Franco single, Two out double by Galvis. Don't come close to scoring. Herrera, who was on at first after FC ground out, out at the plate. NOT EVEN CLOSE.

That's two tonight out at the plate - easily.

Going to the tenth. 5-5. Phillies out hitting Cards, 14 to 7 after nine. Cardinals also have 3 errors.

Looked like Herrera put his head down and never saw Samuel's stop sign at third. Almost ran over Samuel too.
