is there anything more annoying than the Spadaro player interview while the game is going on? I mean, who cares if Landon Dickerson is mugging for the camera or if Zack Baun thinks the Eagles fans are great? Is the target audience for this 10-year old kids?

Yeah, fine for halftime or pregame, but who wants to listen to a Spadaro PR-fest while plays are happening?

Lost to the Browns in a pre-season battle off 2s and 3s. Mukubu had an INT pick 6 and a fumble recovery. Almost everyone else looked mediocre or worse. DTR was awful, McCord was almost as bad, checked everything down. 2nd offensive line opened no holes in the running game, and did not protect well. Toth was bad a t guard and center. Interestingly, Kendall played the second half at LG, not center. Mondon generally played OK at LB, but misread the one long run they gave up to the Browns badly and just took himself out of the hole.

To show how deep the Eagles went in their sill players, Brown, D.Smith, and Dotson didn’t play, Wilson and Cooper barely played, Dillon barely played, Shipley didn’t play, Goedert, Calcaterra, and Jenkins didn’t play...and McKee didn’t play.

Jenkins played. He was on the field in both the first and second halves. All the other guys you mentioned have already answered all the questions about their roles this year. Unlikely you see them play again.

How did I miss Jenkins? I guess DTR and McCord thought he didn’t play, too!

He caught a pass on the first series, played the first half (although the O wasn't on the field much), and was in on the first series of the second half.

Player usage is a much bigger indicator with these games than performance, unless it's at an extreme.

Smith's usage indicates he and Cooper are indeed in a battle for the #5 spot. He and Cooper were playing in the second half, Wilson wasn't in after the first series, he's #4. Cooper also got reps at KR.

Avery Williams usage confounds me. He doesn't take the field in the first half, which suggests to me he has a secure position. But then he's returning punts in the 2nd half which isn't a good sign for a guy of his experience. Haven't seen him take a rep besides as a returner, although maybe I missed something. Are they going to cut him with a side deal to sign to the PS and get him on the 53 after a few weeks? That's the only thing that makes sense.

Also interesting that Kendall started getting reps at LG in second half. He's definitely on the team and is looking like a top backup. Keegan only getting in in the second half and at RG where he's 3rd string at best and probably the 4th or 5th option. Suggests they are ready to move on from him. Maybe sticks on PS.

I have no idea. There are still questionable areas on this team, but wide receiver isn't one of them.

Well, obviously they don't like the depth of the WR room as much as it might seem. Or they just like him better than the current bottom of that depth. Alabama guy, played with Smith, Athletic story speculates he is someone Howie may have wanted to draft then, so jumped on now.

I don't disagree with your WR choices, but that makes the trade for a not-great WR just prior to this new list seem even dumber.

Howie always knows when to move on from players when they are not aging well. I think AJ Brown is gone after this year.

I wouldn’t judge A.J on age, if he puts up another strong year I can’t see moving on from him, his 2026 contract is already fully guaranteed.

You could get a lot more value if you eat the cap it (~$50M) and he's still very productive, but I don't think the Eagles have a good replacement to do that.
