If you really traded him now you could probably get the other team to throw in one of their QBs. But yeah - they surely want him to be the back-up and insurance policy on this team with nothing but repeat Super Bowl expectations, and unless he is injured or plays badly [if Hurts is injured], he'll be worth the same or more in March.

I think the Browns have about 7 QBs. You could trade them a 7th round pick or a pick swap for one of them if you need a veteran.

I want to keep McKee. I legitimately think there is a debate about whether he’s a better passer than Hurts is, although Hurts’ running threat makes him better as an overall QB. I would be fascinated to see what McKee could do with AJ, DSmith, Goedert, and Barkley as weapons behind the all-pro laden offensive line.

I would not trade Jalen hurts. I would not consider trading Jalen hurts. He’s a winner and he’s a leader, and his unique abilities are extremely valuable to run the offense. That said, I also don’t know that another team would be able to offer enough to make a trade worth it, but I would be interested in the academic exercise of discussing what his value would be in a return.

I also think McKee should have been the backup last year, and I don’t think the Eagles Super Bowl chances would be dead in the water if he had to take over because this team has so much talent on both sides of the ball and he’s a really good QB in my opinion. Winning the Super Bowl is not a binary transaction. Each team has a probability. Jalen hurts Could lose the Super Bowl. McKee could win the Super Bowl. The Eagles have a better chance of winning the Super Bowl with Jalen hurts. In my opinion, the Eagles have a better chance of winning the Super Bowl with Tanner McKee, than Carson Wentz or somebody else’s back up. I like our back up. I like our team. It’s a probability percentage that would change if Hurts was injured but i don’t believe that it would go to zero. It doesn’t mean we should dump Hurts.

LD, read both of our comments again, please. Neither of us would trade Hurts. I love the guy, I think he’s underrated nationally, I actually think he’s better than any QB not named Mahomes. We are having fun with hypothetical discussions. Wouldn’t you be curious to see how McKee would play with the “ones”? Just curious, not thinking about replacing Hurts. I think that’s where Docs is, too, but he can respond if he wants to. I

Things could easily change by 2027, whether they win the next two SBs or not. And while he has a no-trade clause, he will also probably want an extension by then [and the Eagles will want to rework as well].

We still don't know the terms of Sirianni's contract do we? No leaks.
