OUCH, but, warranted!
An interesting comparison... but it is wrong. The Phillies weren't 15-37, they were 17-35 and are now 18-35, so we are not yet at level of 1962 Mets.
Never let the facts get in the way of a good story, Harry.
May was the 1962 Mets' least bad month.
Through 63 games, the 2017 Phillies have some catching up to do.

Saw on one of the cable channels an OLD Mets interview, where Don Zimmer was chatting about Chicago players Ron Santo and Billy Williams. Also in the shot, in a Mets uniform, was our own Whitey, Richie Ashburn.
That still puts us back in danger of running outside the rails which govern the W-L of almost all baseball teams: winning between 1/3 and 2/3 of their games. We are now on a pace to lose 108 games. That makes us a VERY bad team, at least for the season-to-date. Some of it is injury luck (or taking too many risks on the injury prone), but we do seem to be a truly bad team -- the worst of this cycle. I had thought the Phillies had bottomed out over the past two seasons, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Certainly they have looked like nothing more than a .333 team since April (and been much worse than that). I reckon last year's team had better pitching and defense. This year's team has a slightly better offense. It's actually surprising they ran off four wins in a row, though they have certainly shown signs of being competitive this past week (when compared to May). At some point more of the one-run games may turn in their favor, though it's also hard to see how they can even tread water (or be remotely watchable) if they trade Hellickson and Neshek, and they'll miss Kendrick too (along with missing Hernandez for now).

Being below .333 this far into the season is horrible. You don't have to be worse than the expansion Mets to be horribly, just about historically bad for an established team. For those who still argue that it wasn't actually a mistake not to move Hellickson at the last trade deadline because we have him to help this year's team: if that help leads to this sort of record, then it is not help which is worth having. It is hard to escape the notion that this organization is being mismanaged.
Thats only 62 games for the Mets
Through 47 games the Mets were 17-47, which I believe works out that they were winning at better pace than the 1962 Mets at that point, if you get the drift.
Corrected! I knew it was a four game differential.
