Final score was Twins 4, Phillies 3.
For us roster watchers/projectors, Nava came on for Hendricks in left and ended up going 2 for 2. So far, he has impressed with the bat. Still, everything to date is a very small sample size and we all know that spring training results/stats are only one part of making the roster decisions. Kingery also came in as a replacement (for Hernandez at second) and went 2 for 2 with a home run, his second of the spring.
Hellickson pitched the first 3 innings, one run on 4 hits, a walk, 4 Ks, a home run.
Appel came on next and pitched 2.2 innings, one run (a home run), 3 hits, no walks, 2 Ks. He was tagged with the loss.
Tirado pitched the 7th and gave up two runs on two hits in his one inning. He should get a hold for holding the loss for Appel since he put the Twins up by enough to hold off the Phillies two runs in the bottom of the 7th.
Burnett and Ramos pitched scoreless innings in the 8th and 9th.
