PC, I mainly agree with that write-up. However, I think the primary ball-handler weaknesses are trivial as he won't be a primary ball-handler when Simmons is on the court. However, I do think that he has good enough ball-handling and vision to take that role for limited stretches when Simmons is not on the court. And I think he does have good vision/creativity for a SG.
I take the part about him being thrown off contact around the rim as a result of him choosing to use the floater when facing bigger bodies towards the rim. I guess it could be seen as a negative, but his floater is so good that I realize why he relies on that. He certainly has the hops to finish at the rim and there is plenty of film of him doing just that. Maybe he was asked to do little off of the cut, but I don't think it will be a problem. Especially given how good he is rotating and using screens to get open in order to get shot off.
I do question his defense, but he has shown good lateral quickness and may be able to be a capable defender if he works at it. And from the film, it looks like he could put in the effort, so I might be a bit optimistic.
I also wouldn't take him at #3, so this all may be wasted time talking about him if the Sixers aren't trading down.
I still think Jackson is the pick as he has a good all-around game. I am just a bit worried that he'll be limited to a great role player if he doesn't develop a shot, but if he does develop a good shot, then he could be the best player in this draft. Same with Fox. It's just a difference of position.
I know you said it was doubtful that they'll trade out of #3 (and I'd probably agree because I doubt how much creativity Colangelo has), but I'd seriously consider that option as other teams may highly value Jackson or Fox and there might be a lot of value there. I personally see Markkanen, Monk, and Ntilikina as the best fits for the current team. But that's just based off the draft and I'm not sure how much value the #3 pick has to other teams. I'd be fine with taking Jackson and bringing in Lowry or Holiday, but that also depends on who the Sixers can sign or trade.
I think the team needs shooters for spacing, which is why I like Markkanen and Monk. Jackson and Fox are great players, but with Simmons shot being a question mark I hesitate to use a high draft pick on a player that doesn't have a natural shot. The team needs spacing, defense, and speed.
