I didn't see this posted elsewhere, but I just found that Robert (Bob) Keich, known here as bkeich, has passed away. For the past couple of years he and Hope Springs Eternal had been members of a fantasy football league of mine. In what now seems to be hauntingly coincidental timing, I sent a DM to both on June 25 to gauge their interest for the upcoming season. Neither replied.
As days turned into a couple of weeks I could see HSE had visited the board via his profile and commentary; Bob showed no activity since June 25, which I found strange. Eventually I found HSE hadn't been notified of having received my messages, a technical issue I bubbled up to Julio. Bob continued to remain away from the board.
Today, as I was alerted that one of my leagues was fully registered, I again thought of him and how it didn't feel right for him to be away so long at this time of year, and given some of the health concerns he'd shared over the past couple of years, I was getting an increasing feeling of dread. So I took to Google and, sadly, found his obituary; everything in it matches his profile here. He died unexpectedly on June 25.
I don't know if anyone here had any communication with him outside of this site, but I'd like to pass along condolences to his wife and family. Though of course this can be done through his obituary, I plan to do some searching across the usual social channels later on when I have more time, and will let anyone interested know if I come across anything.
In the meantime, RIP to a longtime member of this community. Thoughts are with his family, who have obviously been having to cope with a sudden and terrible loss.
