PHILLIES TRANSACTIONS
The Phillies made three transactions today.
Righthander Kane Davis was designated for assignment. Davis, 32, was signed as a minor league free agent last October. He spent the season with triple-A Ottawa where he went 3-3 with four saves and a 3.06 ERA in 41 relief appearances. As a September call-up with the Phillies, Davis went 0-1 with a 5.56 ERA in 11 games.
Also, the Phillies informed catcher Rod Barajas and infielder Abraham Nunez that the club would not be exercising their options for the 2008 season. Barajas, 32, hit .230 with four home runs and 10 RBI in 48 games. The 31-year-old Nunez hit .234 with 16 RBI in 136 games, including 51 starts at third base.
