I would start him, but I may be the only one banging that drum. The problem is he might only be a 5-inning guy in that role and teams donāt love that. I just have seen zero evidence he can handle short rest between appearances, and he is at his worst when he gets amped up and high effort. In the rotation he has found rhythm, mixed his pitches vs overthrowing, and I think just looked more comfortable. Also they have more RP depth than SP depth. It isnāt all high upside but you have Lazar, Shugart, Hoffman, and Johnson in AAA and on the 40. Cusick has been interesting as well. You then have Curet, who is a real reclamation project, and McFarlane, who is probably the highest upside guy, in AA. I would just take the swing on Griff being a bit strange and just see if you can have the rotation thing work.
