If the Phillies really had a guy that needed to be demoted and they didn't want to just give more PT to the people who are already up (Williams but also any of the utility guys), they could always take a look at Meneses (if one of these pitchers ends up on the 60. Or Quinn for that matter). But they're nowhere near that point.

For sure, but sometimes the light just comes on. I would prefer there not be any opportunity for him to contribute to the Phillies, tbh. But he could turn out to be a dark horse Chris Coste or Brandon Moss type. He's obviously a personal fave of Almaraz and it sounds like Jordan has taken a shine to him as well.

It's possible, Donaldson jumped from .812, .783 to 1.000 from age 24-26 in AAA ball, then was promoted, but put up only a .687 OPS. The following year he posted .883.

In the same way it's possible Hernandez has come back from the dead in Reading.
Or Zach Green for that matter.

I'm not looking for Josh Donaldson, just a decent bench bat/1b/5th OF, which the Phillies obviously don't and likely will not need. Let alone a right-handed bat. But the original premise was, who could they call up if they demoted Rhys Hoskins.

How about who can they bring up to have a threat on the bench when needed so Valentine doesn't have to bat?

We'll have Kingery off the bench once Crawford is back. No reason to send Hoskins down. Occasional day off and let both Williams and Altherr play is all he needs.
