Not too many dissing the Arraez deal today. Mattingly batting him #4 looks like genius. The SF Chron says Kilian was projected to become a top of rotation starter! At 29. 6'4".
Still disagree with Harper in RF to make room for Bohm at 1B. Likely a move to keep Bohm motivated for the season, but the team could be stronger with Harper at 1B and somebody else in RF. IMHO. Harper has spent a lot of time fielding crap throws from IFers well. Bohm will likely miss a few of those cause it's something you have to learn.
Before Hill hit his grand slam, nearly everyone was expecting just another weak AB. Big play in CF, too. Fitting right in with a team full of talented and inconsistent Phillies.
No starter acquired says the Phils believe in Nola and Painter. Both have looked a lot better lately. IMHO, when Nola gets knocked out, it often looks like he loses concentration when something goes wrong and he can't correct it. Last outing, even though tagged for a couple HRs, stayed in the game. Real good news.
No clue what the LAD do to enable them to buy anything they see, but the rest of MLB is being outmanaged. Luxury tax means nothing to them. Godzilla just got bigger. For the Phils, take heed of the sage OSU HC Shug Jordan who commented some years ago, “Always remember … Goliath was a 40-point favorite over David.”
