I think Coghlan is the guy who makes the team instead of Florimon or Gomez. LF/2B/3B and he's played the other two OF positions. He had a .779 OPS for the Cubs so call it a strong finish or call him a National League player, but he's no better or worse than the other veteran options.
I also don't think he is competing for the same spot as Nava, who would be primarily a back-up 1B and bench bat, and he can also play RF against RHPs
The only question at this point is if any of the younger players, who aren't on the 40 either (i.e. Stassi, Perkins, Jes Hernandez if you think he's actually in the mix) can fight their way onto the 25 (and the 40 on the way).
I'm sticking with my third catcher preference, either way you are probably getting a guy who can't hit a lick, so it's just a question of utility/positional value, and in the end three catchers would mean more PHs for Knapp instead of him almost never appearing in 100 games.
This will all work itself out though.
