The idea that they could just pry loose Elko or DeBoer with both more $ and (in theory) an easier conference to dominate (inasmuch as there are fewer elite teams, though Indiana is already upending that narrative) is still wild to me. But there'd be a lot less pressure on DeBoer in PA, and Elko is from the region.
But if those are the caliber of guys you want, don't you just suck it up and sacrifice next season to some extent to get them (or even Hartline) rather than settling for a coach who can be hired in three weeks? Missouri has lost three of its last four games, with the only win coming against a program that fired its coach (and that required OT). I don't think that's disqualifying per se but it's also not a clear upgrade on Franklin.
