The Brewers were originally the Seattle Pilots . Milwaukee poached them in 1970. It would be interesting to see the Brewers play Mariners in the WS.

The Pilots were kind of a fiasco. First, the AL awarded the franchise to an ownership group that didn't completely have its financial house in order (it need to sell a lot of tickets in the first season to break even). Second, the AL was forced move the schedule up two years to appease Kansas City and MO Senators who threatened to pull the anti-trust exemption of KC didn't get a team right away. As a result, Seattle had to rush to bring Sicks Stadium up to ML standards and, ultimately couldn't. Third, in order to get a team, Seattle promised to build a domed stadium ASAP but the project ended up getting hung up by NIMBY lawsuits. Originally, the thought was that the Pilots would begin play in 1971 and only have to play at Sicks Stadium--which would have been gradually brought up to ML standards--for two or three years before moving into the Kingdome. The rushed new seats added to Sicks Stadium were poor (many obstructed) and the plumbing couldn't handle ML size crowds so only MiL size crowds showed up and the team went bankrupt.

Did you see the weird double play in the Dodgers-Brewers game? Bases loaded, one out, Muncy hits a fly ball to deep CF. Frelich tries to make a leaping catch; the ball hits his glove, then the wall (on the yellow line), then he catches it. The runners think he made the catch. Frelich throws to the shortstop, who relays it home just in time to beat the runner sliding home. Se he's forced out. But the original runners at first and second are still there, and the catcher runs over and tags third for another forceout. Inning over, 8-6-2 DP, with the catcher getting both putouts!

I'm sure we didn't think there was going to be a Game 6 in Philadelphia after the Phillies won Game 2 10-0 in 2023 either. But it's not something I'd want to be on.

It's kind of wild to me that teams still stay there. I guess Milwaukee just lacks any more generic five-star hotels.

• Have spun off eight starts in which these guys went at least five innings and allowed one hit or none! And you don’t even want us to add in all the starts of two or three hits allowed.
