But of course, he can't be cited. His scooter is not a licensed motor vehicle. (Caveat: I'm assuming that by "scooter," we're talking about something he stands on, either push-powered or electric - not a Vespa or equivalent that is treated as a motor vehicle.) As far as I know, there's no law against riding a scooter (or a bicycle) while bombed out of your mind. Or for that matter, against skydiving while drunk. But these are really dumb things to do, and you could wind up...I don' know... getting run over by a fire truck?

No, I'm pretty sure it was the kind you sit on, a Vespa or equivalent. He crashed into the fire truck and its wheel rolled over his foot. If he'd been on one of those stand-up toys he probably would have already been on the ground and the truck would have rolled over a lot more of him.

Also those stand-up scooters are subject to driving laws in most states. They are motorized vehicles. You can also get a DUI on a bicycle (and therefore probably a non-motorized scooter too).

While those stand-up scooters are also a valid form of transportion I think it would be harder to claim they didn't violate the standard contract clauses against other sports and high-risk activities. But given he already crashed a scooter in 2014 the Giants shouldn't have any problem arguing this one either, it's just that both sides would have done well to ban or allow it explicitly.

To me he's not unlike Harper, seems pretty annoying and unlikeable when he's not on your team, a "high-motor" character guy when he is.

I don't think any of us saw him being quite this bad this season. Even in April it seemed questionable that they chose Garcia over Bader since it was possible neither of them would hit.

Yeah, I was disappointed when they didn't re-sign Bader. But I guess character matters.

Given that he had a similar incident in 2014, Bader might need AA or similar help.
