We got him for two more years, assuming he's not having TJ surgery. Current info is he will pitch again this season.

I assume Bergolla has exceeded his valuation at the time of the trade fo sure, but it was also a trade that happened in tandem with the Soto trade. So in a way they really traded Soto for Banks on the major league team, and Bergolla for Chaice and Johnson at the prospect level.

Soto also would have been worth keeping if not for the fact that he wasn't happy with his role. And we certainly didn't want to see him in a bigger one at the time. He's been solid the last two seasons with low expectations, failed during his time with the Mets.

San Francisco Giants outfielder Harrison Bader hasn't played since May 29. Judging by the latest update, it's highly unlikely we see him back on the field anytime soon.

Bader has been sidelined for two months due to left foot discomfort. He was supposed to get a proper evaluation from a foot specialist in Indianapolis, but he was involved in a scooter accident this past weekend and sustained additional injuries to the same foot.

"The impact of that injury changed the nature of his evaluation, which had originally been to determine the severity of the initial injury/condition (left plantar fasciitis)," the Giants said in a press release.

Saw this interesting tidbit in a Phillies phan group on Facebook.

The Angels cut Romano at the end of April despite those saves after he put up a 10.13 ERA. Rockies picked him up about a week later and put him in the minors. Very SSS (7 G, 6.2 IP) but he does have a 1.35 ERA for the Rockies (but also 1.500 WHIP which you don't like to see).

Rangers are sending him to the minors. He's their #3 catcher. O'Hoppe really has fallen, as the MLBTR article states. Very likely replacing O'Hoppe as the Angel's #1 catcher is non other than Travis D'Arnaud

I was just thinking about how Kody was someone they shouldn't have punted on. 117 OPS+. He and Sosa platooning at 3B last year and this year would have probably been fine. And even now he would have been a better option than Rincones Jr. as a LHB OF band-aid.

He's started 88 games this year too, so has not been exposed by extra playing time, and still has some power when facing LHP. Not an OBP guy though.

Figured that was gonna happen. Not his first time. It is admittedly a great way to get around a city like SF (or Philly). I guess if I was him/his agent/lawyer, I would argue that it's not recreational and should not be covered by the high-risk activity clause. But since he's done it before, it should have been written into the contract (either way).

Good way to get around a city or not, that's essentially drinking and driving. Some people are just idiots.
