Uh oh. GCL Phillies blow a 6-0 3rd inning lead and lose to the GCL Yankees West while the GCL Blue Jays score two in the bottom the 9th to defeat the Tigers West 5-4. The two teams close out the season with two against each other. Suddenly, our most money in the bank postseason appearance may be in jeopardy.

They've clinched. Even if it's lose-out/win-out they win by % points because the GCL doesn't make up cancelled games. This one really IS money in the bank.

That's why they rested 3 or 4 of their regulars today.

Herrera homers and singles in rehab assignment at Reading, Altherr doesn't play [hope he hasn't had a relapse.] Two players acquired in July deadline deals are playing well, Hammer has been brilliant in relief, tonight 5 KO's in 2 innings and Gomez, after a slow start, has been hitting exceptionally well.

The guy can flat out hit and will eventually become a Phillie top 30 prospect, maybe not this year but when he gets to Reading. He is simply a good player.

Otherwise, pretty much same low scoring games as we have seen for the past 7 weeks outside of LHV and GCL Phils, Young won again at Williamsport 2-1.

Altherr is scheduled to pay tomorrow and Herrera is supposed to have the day off. Not sure why that is. Maybe they felt it would be having 2 MLB stars in a AA lineup
