One reason I'm patient with Galvis over someone like Perkins, Galvis got promoted too fast, then bounced around for two years. His three years starting, his hitting has improved each season. So I want to see how he finishes out the year.
Tocci got promoted too fast, then was given time to adjust, now he's breaking out in Reading, still lacks power, but has improved his patience at the plate to the point where he's a credible #2 hitter.
Though I think the whole problem with Crawford has been swing mechanics, he's struggled to put up a .100 ISO at every level until this year, with his size and strength he should have excellent gap power. Luke Williams is a similar issue, re-engineering a swing bullt for contact to also generate power and find a balance between the two.
That's why they call it "player development."
