One of the notes columns said they are in no huge hurry to bring him up. Thomson said it's like Week 2 of spring training for him. Of course I'm sure it will still be pretty soonn. They could also bring him up and let him pitch in low or no-leverage spots a few times, same way they occasionally throw a starting pitcher to the wolves who didn't get quite enough work in March.
Hopefully Thomson's long history with him doesn't make him overly deferential because he doesn't even need to be one of the Top 4 guys once Alvarado is back, just in the Lazar/Ross spot.
Sounds like Ross is close to being back up too.
