Marquez looked pretty polished for a 19 year old with limited experience. He consistently landed a sharp slider/sweeper at the catchers right knee for a lot of swinging strikes. When he landed his sinker at the shins it had such late life it almost looked like a little split, up to 95. His 4 seamer was ok- it played well at the letters, probably because of how aware batters were of the sinker/slider. Threw a bunch of changeups late with good armside movement.
Pullido was really impressive- he’s as big as Duran, and while the fastball was 95 on the gun it looked a lot faster with good ride and movement.
6 innings, 2 hits and 12 ks for McGarry- he’s pitching like the version of himself in 2022 at Jersey Shore that got people excited about him in the first place. He looks like a very different pitcher since then. 94-95 with a lot of armside run on his sinker and the same good rise on his 4 seamer. Good sweeper to go with his same nasty slider and curve. Really mixed his pitches well. Righties hitting .154 off him. Everything you’d want to create in a pitching lab. While he looks like he’d be great relief arm, it does seem to take him 2 innings to get in a groove.
