Saltiban now above the Mendoza line, 2 triples today, has been hot for a couple weeks in JS. Still only 20.

Seems like they should lighten his work the last few weeks though - go back to a once a week or limit him to 3-4 innings, something to get him back feeling good so he doesn’t blow up every game down the stretch so at least his results feel a little better.

Do you think they pushed him this week with two starts with an eye towards getting him to the bigs still, or just to push him? I'm sure they have made it clear to him that this is about process as much as results.

On some level it was just his turn in the rotation. For AA and AAA at least the Tuesday pitcher pitches Sunday. When he did it the first time it was a big deal now it is just him pitching in AAA as part of the normal cycle.

Saltiban is 10 for his last 23, 0.435, with 19 total bases SLG = 0.826, and OBP = 0.500 (three walks). OPS = 1.326. His best stretch as a pro by far. Raised his AVG 31 points to .202.

Saltiban coming around would be a very good thing! He seems to be about as good a power hitting prospect as we currently have....
