Mattingly has already seen him. Committed to Duke, 2027 draft. Sounds like a well-rounded kid (he used to take ballet and was on a music scholarship at St. Joe's Prep).

Reminds me of the last time a pitching phenom came from our area--Jay Groome. After TJS and a gambling suspension, he never made it to The Show and, at the moment, is out of baseball. Still only 26, though.
Chase Petty may be more apropos. He's taken an interesting path from throwing 100 in HS to dialing it back to 95-96 in the pros while being able to stay healthy. I suppose the quality of his stuff beyond the mph was always a question and nothing has become above average for him to dominate with. But the fact he hasn't blown out is an achievement in and of itself after throwing so hard so young.
