Interesting infield defense with Kemp, Stott, and Wilson all in. Not sure it is that good but should be OK offensively. Sosa is really important for his defense everywhere.
Gets Stott more exposure to LHP anyway. I assume Sosa is getting on the plane tonight though.
Stott has been hitting much better over the last month as well.
Stott has been hitting better for longer than that (.878 second half), but managing his exposure to LHP is part of the reason why (still .533 overall against LHPs). Not sure they'd choose to ease him back into more of these situations, any more than they really want him to play SS, but needs must.
Hitting eighth, Stott is unlikely to face the starting pitcher more than twice
...in the first inning.
