As bad as this team has been at full health, it is really stark when 25% of the starting eight is Nava and Kelly (nice as they've been in their normal roles).

No DL/roster move for Altherr yet I presume.

Phillies take a 1-0 lead in the top of the fifth, on a Rupp walk, Williams single, wild pitch that allowed both runners to advance, and Ty Kelly sac fly.

Nola with a little two out trouble (single, SB, double, walk) but was able to get the third out with on routine fly to left.

Franzke and LA discussing Altherr. Larry make the (obvious to me) point that if Altherr tries to run hard any time soon, he's likely to aggravate what is now a mild hamstring strain. Larry's view (and mine) is that Altherr really should be shut down for a while so it can heal - which means the DL.

Perez leads off the bottom of the sixth with a home run to put the Brewers up 2-1. Nola follows up by walking the next batter.

Nola due up 5th in the inning, but regardless, I think he should be done for the night. He pitched a good six innings.

The Brewers have pulled Jimmy Nelson with two away, nobody on. RHP Oliver Drake in to face Nick Williams. Nelson was at 96 pitches.

Nelson strikes out Rupp for the second out and then gets replaced. 96 pitches, but seems to me you let him face Williams and likely end the inning. Drake comes on and strikes out Williams, so I guess the manager was right.

In the bottom of the seventh, Pat Neshek strikes out the side (Villar, Thames, Braun), on a total of 14 pitches.

Great to see Neshek with that 3 K inning. I am holding my breath hoping for a good trade any day now and innings like this can only help build his value.

Phils fail to score in the top of the eighth, and now Joaquim Benoit is in there in the bottom half. Travis Shaw greets him with a home run to center.

In the top of the ninth, Franco lined out to center, Josepph struck out swinging, Herrera doubled down the third base line, Cameron Rupp struck out swinging. Phils lose.

Benoit validates his value. I don't see anyway the Phillies can deal him for anything. There is no way he can be on the roster after July 31 regardless.
