It's the holy cow, I forgot it was a 1PM start time GDT.
Pitchers duel so far, 3 hits for the Phils, 1 for the Cards. The only mistake was a pitch that Galvis sent over the fence in the 1st.
Phils up 1-0, batting in the 5th.
I tuned in just in time to hear Tommy Joseph hit a solo HR!
It's 2-0 Phils and someone won $1000 in the home run payoff inning.
Blanco follows with a single, Rupp hits a ball back to the pitcher (force or DP ball) and the 2nd baseman can't handle it.
1st and 2nd, no one out on the error. Nola batting. He might sac bunt, or use Pivetta's trick from last night.
Or he might K bunting.
Perkins batting.
Perkins Ks on 3.
The Cardinals' infield continues to donate generously. Galvis' grounder leads to another throw dropped at 2B. Blanco alertly scores on the play.
Herrera lines out to end the inning.
It's 3-0 Phils.
What was the official scoring? infield single and error to let the run score?
Yahoo says:
Freddy Galvis reached on Aledmys Díaz's throwing error, Andrés Blanco to third, Cameron Rupp to second
They don't even mention the run scoring, so it may have been an error all the way.
yet looking at the yahoo box score they showing Galvis with 2 rbi's. This can't be true if it was scored an error.
No RBI for Galvis, it was ruled an E6. Poor flip on the play by the SS Diaz.
7 scoreless for Nola!
Nola looks great. He is throwing like a # 1 today.
Nola bats in bottom of 7th and Ks. 89 pitches as Nola starts the top of the 8th.
DeJong makes up for his miscue in the field with a HR.
3-1 Phils.
HR - K - BB to start the 8th. That's all for Nola as Neshek is called upon to protect a 3-1 lead with 1 out in the 8th.
Neshek induces the around the horn DP and we move to Bottom of 8th.
Tommy Joseph with a 2 run single. Nava gets in a rundown to ensure the 2nd run scores, almost like he came up in a different organization.
Bases loaded single by Joseph gives the Phils a 4-run lead!
On to the 9th, Phils up 5-1.
Did y'all catch LA giving Herrera an earful about not running on the 3-2/2 out pitch?
After 2 quick outs, the Phils load the bases and then plate 2 insurance runs on a single by Tommy Joseph. Can our bullpen protect a 5-1 lead in the 9th?
It's Luis Garcia's turn for 9th inning reliever roulette.
