I'm replacing a water-damaged kitchen floor. First time using a table saw.

On to the 2nd.

Top of the 3rd sees the D-backs score a run and the Phils were lucky to limit it to that.

1-0 AZ.

Bottom of the 4th, Joseph walks and Saunders breaks his 0-19 with a single.

Runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs.

Knapp walks, sacks full for Galvis.

On a 2-1 count, Glavis hits a chopper to short and the Phils are turned away.

Still 1-0 AZ.

Altherr saves a run by nailing a runner at the plate.

Once again the Phils seem overmatched but are keeping it close at 1-0.

Franco walk, Saunders double, Knapp SF ties the game at 1!

D-backs immediately retake the lead and are still batting. :-/

Bottom of the 7th, Phils have managed to load the bases with 2 outs. Saunders (already 2 for 2 today) coming to bat. D-backs bringing in a new pitcher to face him.

Saunders runs the count to 3-2 but lines out to Goldschmidt.

In spite of the score, this was another winnable game for the Phillies. They got a quality, quality start (6 innings, only one run allowed) from Eickhoff. Offense matched the D-Backs in hits, 9 each, and even got one more walk than they allowed (5 to 4), but the bullpen gave up 4 runs in the 7th and the Phillies offense never could get the key hit with RISP. They were 0 tor 5 with RISP and left 13 on base. Twice, an inning ended on a well hit ball that went for the final out of the inning.

Yep, either bad luck or bad hitting in the clutch.

That was a weird outing by Eickhoff, 87-89 yet one of his most effective despite hanging curve balls against a good hitting team.
Wonder if the shoulder is more serious than advertised.
Though it shows how important it is to command four pitches, he doesn't use his changeup and slider enough, he has a great curve but a below average FB, so hitters can sit on the curve, the other two pitches throw their timing off.
I predict Eickhoff is on IR by July, gets his shoulder cleaned out, and hopefully bounces back next year.
