Maybe Jose Alvardo's NBA championship will make ours pitch better.
I'm surprised Kerkering hasn't gotten more chances already but I guess they didn't want to mess with what was working (for him).
On the bright side, Alvarado has only been getting hit in lower leverage situations. 2026 splits:
High leverage - 40 PA, .572 OPS against Medium leverage - 34 PA, .900 OPS against Low leverage - 46 PA, 1.027 OPS against
Yeah he's also just been much better in May and June, despite a couple of tough outings this month (that still didn't cost the Phillies a win). WHIP has greatly decreased, SO/W ratio way up. But given his history hard to ever feel fully great about him.
