Odubel Herrera lines a single to right to open the game!

Daniel Nava hits it sharply up the middle for a single. Herrera to second, Nava at first, nobody out.

Howie Kendrick lines out to left; runners have to hold. One away.

Tommy Joseph grounds past Gyorko at third, Odubel Herrera being waved home! The throw is up the lilne!

3 run HR Fowler in the bottom of the 5th give the Cards a 3-2 lead. Sounds as if the Phillies could have scored plenty of runs off Wainwright but they couldn't get additional hits when needed.

Phillies drop this one, 6-5. They outhit Cards,12-10. Oh gets the save with a nifty ninth inning, only allowing 2 runs on 4 hits.

Nola gave up 3 runs in 5 innings. Benoit returns to allow 2 runs and Neris the final run. Phillies 4 for 15 RISP.

Nola is weirding me.
He's dropped his arm slot to almost sidearm, which makes his curve sharper, but he no longer has the two seamer that moves like a screw ball.
His FB is 92-93 t96 but straighter.
However, he's really working on his changeup, which could make that FB a killer, imagine if Hellickson threw that hard, no one would ever hit him.

Right now Nola is stlll a work in progress, I think he's adjusting to his new slot and doesn't have the command he had, but I suspect at some point it'll become second nature and he'll start painting the outside corner with his FB. Right now he has stretches when he's unhittable, then he starts missing, not by much, but enough to fall behind in the count and walk a couple guys, which is what happened in the 5th inning.
