Ten Ks for Velasquez is great, but the walks and home runs will cost him a great start today.

Unfortunately, the Phillies are unlikely to be able to do much with the bats today against a really outstanding starting pitcher for the Nationals.

Rodriguez struggles against the LH hitters in the 6th. Back to back singles from Eaton and Harper, walk to Murphy, all with two outs, loads the bases.

After a looooooong conference, Rodriguez gets an easy bouncer from Zimmerman to himself for a quick 1-3 out to end the inning.

Phillies cleverly letting the league get comfortable with them not being a good team so that it will be easier to sneak up on the Nationals, Mets, Marlins, and Braves and win the NL East with an exciting finish this season.

Altherr 2-run homer narrows the gap to 7-4 in the 7th. Could have been a bigger inning except for a wild pitch that bounced off the wall right back to Weiters allowing him to get the first out when runner on second tried to advance.
