Eagles 2025-2026 Season

Howie has already said he was drafting offense in ’26. I wouldn’t worry about any mock draft with defense in the first two rounds; they are not paying attention.

They (not Nick) want a new offensive philosophy and we are actually going to see it implemented this year. They don’t want a simplified pass-game, run oriented, conservative offense. They want a cutting edge offense with all the bells and whistles (motion, matchups, timing based, etc). This isn’t a big surprise. Nicks success has been standing in the way of it, but this year opened the door again.

It looks like the Eagles are going to rebuild the entire offense. That will probably include most of the line except for Maliata. Johnson and Dickerson are questionable already. Jurgens has had back issues that are quite concerning. This could be why Stoutland stepped aside. His view on a rebuild might be different than Sirianni's.
Mannion saw the Packers rebuild a line on the fly last season that was more than adequate with less talent than the Eagles have. The new OL coach is Chris Kuper who was with Minnesota last season. He had worked with Mannion in Minnesota and did a decent job there. It's a big change. We'll have to wait to see how it all plays out.

I think the 1st and 2nd round picks ideally need to go for an OT and TE in some order -- I don't think they find anyone in later round good enough to make a difference next season. Of course, who remains on the board when it's the Eagles turn to pick may limit and redirect the position selected -- always best to hew relatively closest to best available player, with need determining only which of a handful of roughly equal best player available to choose. In rounds 3 and 4, they also need an IOL, but might re-sign Mekhi Becton (off-year so may be cheap). Third and 4th round ideally an IOL, S, CB, and perhaps a 2nd S, although I have a gut feeling they take a QB here. The rest of the draft are flyers, probably including a RB and WR. It wouldn't surprise me if the took a kicker in round 5 or 5 -- Elliott has cost them too many points the past two seasons. With Stoutland gone, Mekhi likely less interested in return to Philly and he wouldn't make sense for us unless a power running aspect is wanted as at least part of the running game. If the Eagles focus more on outside, speed, and finesse runs as the new coaches likely prefer, then we likely draft a RB in 3rd-4th round.

I’ve been worried for the lack of O-line picks in the last few drafts. It was obvious age was an issue. Didn’t Andy Reid draft Lane Johnson? I expect them to sign a free agent O-lineman or trade for one. It will be A.J.’s money that helps shore up the offense.

It’s cheaper for them to keep AJ than it will be to get rid of him cap wise. If they dump AJ it will not free up money because of the dead money applied to the cap.

True but it still unloads the cash itself and opens up a lot from '27-'29. Howie always seems to find a way, whether with trades or restructures. And they certainly wouldn't trade him until after June 1, which would move a good deal of the hit to '27.

Can the Eagles trade A.J. Brown, simply from a financial perspective?

Of course it's also possible the new OC will be happy to keep him, and Brown much happier with the new offense.

I would keep AJ. I think he wants a big new contract and realizes that he needs a good and well-behaved year to get that contract from his new team. After coming off a sour season, in which he had an off year in performance and cast himself as a trouble-maker, he's not in a good position. From Eagles perspective it makes no sense to trade him -- both the dead money and that his loss leaves the receiver corps in a bad place. With their window still sort-of open, strapped on cap compared to other teams (yes, the cap is going up significantly, but that will give other teams more to spend and drive up prices), and many other holes to fill, the Eagles can't afford to voluntarily create another huge hole. We are going to have a substantially remade offensive system. Best for both sides to wait and see how AJ fits/is happy in it. Both the $ and loss of talent closes the window if Eagles trade Brown now.

That of course is how the Eagles got Brown in the first place. I could still see them trading him to a team that extends him. Or, the crazier option, they do the usual Eagles thing and actually get him to take a pay cut/restructure. Hard to imagine him cashing in as big on his next deal or it being with a better team necessariily.

I was fine with Brown until the 2 or 3 drops (depending on who decides) in the playoff game. They should at least keep him for next season and play it from there.

It wasn't just the drops. He made zero attempt to turn and attempt to gain more yardage on a couple of the throws. He either went out of bounds or just went down to avoid a hit. And when the ball was not coming to him, total disinterest. I may be wrong but I think one of the reasons we were so successful in 2024 is that on end runs, AJ would throw himself into the D line and create a mess for the D line or LB's with pursuit. Did anyone else notice this?

Sadiq would be a very disappointing first round consolation prize after Warren and Loveland going in the first round last year. If I'm going to use first round capital on a TE, I would need a better guy.

Sadiq is getting a lot of love from scouts. He’s #12 on Fran’s big board. I’d rather have an O-lineman in round 1 if they like somebody there that is available. Proctor would be great, Ioane OK, and Freeliong and Tiernan would be interesting. Best case they re-sign Goedert for TE (since I’m not that high on Sadiq, either).

Yes, I know he will get a lot of love since he is a dynamic athlete and has premier pass catching upside. But he's only like 6'3" - he's never going to become a monster like the premier guys that dominate the position today. I think if you are going to go that route, you gamble further down the line in the draft.

Wasn't Vernon Davis 6'3"? I like Sadiq, but am more worried about his route tree than his size. Having said that, I'd be fine with him at #23. I also like Lomu a bit at RT.

Nobody likes seeing an F and a D. The Eagles did not cast a blind eye toward this survey in the past. They held a meeting with the leadership council to discuss concerns. Regarding the facilities, the Eagles are in the process of a multi-million-dollar upgrade after acquiring space that had been for orthopedic specialists, according to team sources. The upgrades will include new training and recovery areas, among other focuses on wellness. The once state-of-the-art practice facility is now 25 years old and space has been an obstacle while the size of the organization has swelled.

The gripes about team travel in the past have focused on the lack of first-class, lie-flat seats for the players. The 2025 report stated that the first-class seats went to coaches.

For flights longer than three hours, the Eagles offer those seats for about 22-24 players. For flights shorter than three hours, the Eagles ensure each player has his own row or 1-2 open seats between them. The Eagles also have programs that go beyond road trip travel, including four fully funded rideshares per month that cost the team approximately $180,000 annually, per team sources.

I figure, the Eagles might trade McKee and not resign Howell, so Allar seemed like a good project 3rd QB, he's always had the tools, maybe the new staff can fix him especially coming off the injury.

Also, dreams of Maxx Crosby coming to the Eagles are gone, he's being traded to the Ravens.

First 4 picks would be an awesome result. Joly is a steal at 98. Don’t like Allar at all at any point, he has just looked completely lost at times at PSU. Johnson might be a bit of a reach at 54 but he fits Fangio’s scheme.

Eagles sign DT Jordan Davis to a 3 year/78million extension (65 guaranteed). I think this is tacked onto the existing 5th year option he is under for 2026 (at $13m) so it covers through the 2029 season.

I read an interesting idea on The Athletic regarding letting Dean walk and give the job to Campbell, or try to trade Campbell for Marvin Harrison Jr. and bring Dean back (if you are also trading Brown)
