i want you to drop it because this is an annoying conversation and you keep posting things that are not supported by the video. As the original poster, you tried to argue that Brown did not block on the Barkley big play, and I disagreed, I offered one photo to your two photos that showed that he did block on that play. other people see the same thing I saw, and I think you have something against Brown and are refusing to give him credit on this play because of your prejudices against him. that doesn't make my argument terrible. just because you post with confidence does not mean you are right.
You posted a picture of Brown
We all remember that he blocked on on that play. He ran a route that took him past the first down marker and the ball was thrown to Barkley behind the line of scrimmage. Because of his route, Brown was not in a position to block anyone at the line of scrimmage, which was who you want him to block. The pictures you posted tell your version of the story, and I posted a picture showing him blocking the DB on that play.
On this one, this is before Barkley beat the first man. There are players behind Brown, if he sprinted towards the players in this picture that you want him to engage with, he would be running away from the play, blocking people who are trailing and ignoring the two DBs downfield. Brown correctly stayed where he was and became the lead blocker after Barkley beat the man at the sticks.
Not correct. The video shows that Dickerson didn't engage with anyone at the line of scrimmage and then trailed the play the entire time. That doesn't mean i don't like Dickerson, he is very important to the team and I hope he gets healthy. It means on that play he did not impact the play. This is an example of something you throw at the wall as a deflection, but has no truth to it. its irrelevant anyway.
The video clearly shows Parsons losing his footing when he tried to cut inside on Mailata. I don't have anything against any of these guys, but that was not a pancake. Mailata is an amazing player. This is another deflection and totally irrelevant too. The only reason i brought up Jordan was to point out the fallacy argument that you were making. I wasn't actually criticizing Mailata, I was pointing out the absurdity of your argument by making an equally disingenuous point, which is clear from the context of my post - why you would take that and run shows it went over your head - notice i used the word falsely.
Brown did his job on that play, and I suggested you find another play to criticize him over because this example that you brought up he did his job well. And the real discussion point from my point of view, is what to do with brown. I agree with PC - it is up to the coaches to get him going. He is super talented, he is on the roster & can help them win. He has helped them win games this year. I see zero upside with intentionally alienating him or tearing him down.
