There is an interesting quote about Bill Greason, the only player older than Shantz, who had a cup of coffee with the Cardinals. Apparently he was a big help to Willie Mays when they were in the Negro Leagues.

It's funny that Roy Face is the oldest living Expo and Tiger, for whom he played a fraction of a season each, but not the oldest living Pirate, for whom he pitched his first 15 seasons. Shantz briefly was a Pirate, as was Bob Oldis, who is a little older than Face. I believe Oldis is the second oldest living Phillie.
