Fringy RHRP in high-A at age 23, who has been gradually bringing his walk rate down each year. He is having something of a breakout year. His K-rate remains over 8, his H/9 is only 4.5, and his BB-rate is down to 3.12/9. ERA of only 1.34. Not a big guy at only 6'-0" and 180#. An interesting guy and fair return for Benoit. We need to accumulate relievers. Doesn't need to be on 40-man, which is a plus. Reading will tell the tale.

Agree that every actual trade should get its own thread. Our dudes just weren't worth much of anything at all. Glad he is gone now. Time to move on and tryout the AAA relief corps.

Shame we couldn't package a few guys for a better prospect, but that is being picky. Klentak clearly went for marginal prospects that were having good seasons and have at least 1 full year before they need protection. Hopefully at least 1 of the X are worth holding on to. Not bad gambles giving what we were throwing into the pot.

McGarry is not fringy, he was a ranked prospect in the 2015 draft, #170/270, throws sinking FB in the mid-90s (at least when he was drafted).
Has been lights out in the FSL this season with a ridiculous GB rate.

Much better prospect than Hammer, who's in the Betancourt, Quinn, Hibbs category of hard throwing college pitchers who are long shots but might suprise if they master a secondary pitch.
