To me Kingman is pretty well-remembered, as the pioneering all-power/strikeout king. When he was at his best, for maybe three seasons, the strikeouts and low BA didn't matter. Now there are a hundred players like him. (And he and Ryan Howard both stopped being effective around the same age. Howard was much better for longer, of course.)
I don't see Burrell as similar at all because even when he struggled Burrell got on base. Shoot, he'd be the most productive offensive player on this year's team by far, and a great hitter on almost any team. 8 out of 9 seasons w/ an OPS over .800, four of those at or close to .900. (I know that still doesn't make him Mike Trout. Especially not in the field).
