The Orioles get 6 draft picks from 2024 from the Padres for O'Hearn and Laureano. Picks from rounds 2, 3, 4, 12, 15, and 18. Second round guy (Butterworth) got $2.5 million overslot deal. 6th in the Padres system.

I think the Twins are in double digits now in the number of players traded off their major league roster. They keep Ryan and Buxton but just about everything else is gone.

Phils get Matt Manning after he was put on waivers- I don’t know what his stuff looks like now but it used to be exciting.

MLB transactions say it was a trade after he was DFAed by Tigers. Phillies send OF Josueth Quinonez To Detroit. He was a first round pick by Tigers (#9 overall) in 2016. He is 27, on the Phillies 40 man roster, and assigned to the Clearwater Thrashers.

The MLBTR post says the trade was made just under the wire but you can still make DFA/waiver trades [just not for major leaguers in return] the rest of the year can't you? Waivers just aren't revocable anymore.

I think I was a little more excited when I saw the name. Looks more like his stuff never materialized than was great at one point. If I remember he was a 2-sport basketball guy with loads of projection. He sat 94 last season and that was as high as he ever got. Control has taken a step backwards and now he is just a AAA guy who used up his options.

Now we traded a marginal guy repeating the DSL, so more than the typical cash transaction, but not much more.

This is his first year in the bullpen, but it probably will be challenging to keep him on the 40 the rest of the season. Right now we like him better than Devin Sweet I guess (the second guy we DFA'd today). We'll need a spot for Nola in a couple of weeks.
