This team is running out of time, but even if Dombro decides it's finally time to tear it down and start over, he doesn't have a lot of attractive pieces:
Schwarber and Castellanos are probably unmoveable with their contracts, they're going to be anchors on this franchise for years to come.
Realmuto has value, if he picks up his hitting, a lot of value.
Segura has value given he's a rental.
Didi has zero value, Hoskins close to zero (below average fielder at 1B who's struggling with off speed pitches)
Eflin, Gibson could be trade bait.
Knebel doesn't have much value, maybe Hand, forget Familia.
The biggest move would be Harper, if he's tired of losing, but that's probably an offseason move.
What this season is showing is you can't buy your way into being competitive - you have to start with a first rate organization, and use money to keep your best young talent and trade the rest - FAs are only valuable at the margins (i.e. filling a hole that you haven't been able to address) - but paying your own is more cost effective.
Unfortunately, while they've improved their 1st rd drafting (Bohm, Stott, Able, Painter), player development is still a ??? and there's little help from LA. So they still have a bottom third farm system.
