y'all, youse, yinz... a distinct plural form of the second person pronoun is just too useful to do without. We dropped it from English and were forced to reinvent it. It exists formally in French, Spanish, German, Swedish, Danish, Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, etc. but not in English! Why have we so impoverished ourselves?
In memory of the classic line from President Kennedy, "Our Nation could have afforded, and can afford now, the steps necessary to close the pronoun gap."
Anyway, y'all would probably prefer to talk about baseball. Those of you who watch the games, what do youse guys think about Galvis' footwork at the plate? Is it solid, or is he still tap dancing?
