To me an AAAA pitcher is someone like Cloyd, who dominated in AAA but didn't have the stuff to succeed at the next level.
Leibrandt and Taveras are probably similar, they'll need great command to succeed, but Hendricks shows it can be done (as did Moyer).
Eshelman may just have that command.
The others have ML arms, Thompson was hitting 92-93 his last start.
Eflin is a "wait and see," I want him in the weight room strengthening his lower body then working with Burris, coming off double knee surgery, it's hard to judge him off this season.
Lively has a ML FB, 92-93 and it's got movement and deception, but like a lot of these guys, he flashes secondary pitches but can't throw them consistently and with command.
Leiter also has been throwing around 92, he's got a great repertoire, just has to focus on 4 pitches and refine them, but watching him pitch, when he's on he's hard to hit and with his portfolio of pitches he's harder to adjust to because you can't just time his FB and motion.
The problem is all these guys have shown flashes, but are so inconsistent you can't rely upon them.
But that's part of the development process.
And there's psychology, Pivetta was totally dominant in AAA, but looks scared in the Show. Experience often cures that.
It's hard to be patient, but that's what rebuilding requires.
