I'm not suggesting this as a conspiracy theorist, or to overturn the election results. But as a politicial scientist, I find it a fascinating subject for political scientists to study. For example, my precinct is overwhelmingly democratic (Trump type white working democrats). It's so Democratic that no Republican even runs for the state representative in my Borough and surrounding cities and townships. Democrats soundly won all the statewide races and the gerrymandered Congressional District, but Hillary and Katie McGinty lost.
We also have electronic ballets with no paper verification. I hated those voting machines when they bought them over ten years ago, because there is no verification, and there were some issues because some of the machines were out of calibration. Luzerne County has no paper verification and voted for Trump and Toomey. Lackawanna County (which is less solidly Democratic by registration has paper ballots spit out at the time you vote. It went for Clinton and McGinty.
Not going to change a thing, but I'd love to see a legitimate computer study of the issue. I know there has been some commentary on national networks that Luzerne County was pivotal in the election (hangs head in shame).
On a personal note, this is a time I really miss Mr. SF as he crunched numbers back in the late 70's and early 80's for some Congressional campaigns and knew the voting habits of this county inside out. I'd love to go through the individual precinct numbers with him and study just what happened. He would have found this whole election so fascinating.
