I think all the leagues are willing to have some outbreaks though. They are just praying, perhaps foolishly, that there are no consequences. Had the the NHL and NBA been at the same point in their season as MLB and NFL (i.e., not at all) they wouldn't have been so conscious of "safety."
IIRC there was some interest in moving the start of the NHL season to December permanently. Get away from football and stop going head-to-head with the NBA come playoff time. I think that falls apart once you have fans back in the buildings for June/July playoff games though.
Another big issue for the NHL is there might not be anywhere for prospects to play this year. They'll have to finance some kind of AHL action. And if all three junior leagues don't play it will be hard to move guys around.
