If the Flyers do nothing, they have:
Giroux, Couturier, Voracek, JVR, Hayes, Konecny, Laughton, Farabee, Raffl, Frost, Lindblom
Unrestricted free agents: Pitlick, Thompson, Grant
Restricted free agents are: Patrick, Aubé-Kubel
Provorov, Niskanen, Gostisbehere, Sandheim
Unrestricted free agents: Braun
Restricted free Agents: Hagg, Myers
Unrestricted free agents: Elliott
As for the forwards, it will be hard to move any of the big contracts, so I think they come back with the same crew. With the new CBA, they can sill buy someone out, maybe they buy out Voracek if they can't trade him, he has four years left on his contract where Giroux only has two. I think they will bring back Patrick. There aren't any top shelf free agents available, so if they go after a forward, it would be by trade. I love to go get Johnny Gaudreau.
For the defense, they need to bring Myers and Hagg back. I would like to give Ghostisbehere another year to see if he can regain his form now that he is healthy, but he might be traded as he seems to have fallen out of favor. I let Braun walk.
Hart is the goalie for the next decade, I think Elliott can walk if he won't come back cheap. Sandström is in the wings and would be fine as a backup next year, he could also be trade bait.
As for the pipeline, other than Frost, there aren't many prospects that are ready for next season except maybe Rubstov and Twarynski for bottom six roles. Ratcliffe took a step back last year, in part due to injury, so he's probably not ready for next year, most of the other forward talent is 2 to 3 seasons away. For the defense, Zamula, might be able to jump in straight from Juniors next year, he's that good. Friedman is still just 24 and is fine as an extra guy to carry.
As a whole they could go backwards next year as the older players regress and the younger players still find their way, but the young defense is another year older and now they have been playoff tested, and with Hart being the bell cow, they should still be a contender and make the playoffs.
