A friend of mine proposed this deal saying "who says no". Foerster for Matty Beniers. I think Foester could become a 40 goal scorer, but Beniers is a 6' 2" center who is just 23 and his best hockey is also ahead of him. I think the Kraken would probably ask for more since first line centers are rarer then hen's teeth, but it's an interesting thought.

The Flyers want a center. Are the Senators an ideal trade partner?

According to team sources, the Flyers have interest in Senators’ centers Shane Pinto, Dylan Cozens and Ridly Greig – in that order.

Per sources, the Senators have shown on and off interest in Flyers defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen, who has one year left on his deal carrying a $5.1 million AAV.

Same story mentions Beniers is not thought to be available.

All 3 of those guys seem to be possible good gets. I think Cozens would be my preference. I am guessing that Risto alone wouldn't get any of them though.

I live in the Carolinas and casually am watching parts of the Canes Cup parade on local tv. They just brought Nick Deslauriers up to the mic to talk. Not sure the context, but he bolts out 2 MORE F*CKING YEARS then casually walks away.

There's a good bet we trade both Risto and Seeler, but not at the same time.
Risto this summer, then Seeler at the TDL or next summer.
It also depends if we sign/trade for a D-man.

Reason is not to depend too much on unproven young D-men.
If Bonk or Murchison don't work out, they would go to LHV for more seasoning.
If Jiricek doesn't work out, 7th D-men while coaches work with him.

Where the Flyers are picking there is usually a choice of 2 types of prospects (true in all pro drafts at some level) high ceiling/low probability picks, or solid floor/high probability/low ceiling guys. Given where they are now, I think I’d take the chance on the high ceiling picks.

Hoping for Shilov or Villleneuve. Upside, baby.

I’ve seen Hermansson mocked to the Orange and Black, too, but he’s the high floor low ceiling type.

More likely Ottawa turns around a flips a 1st or 2 1sts for a top 6 wing.
They were forced into this trade, it's not a rebuild.
Rumor is they may make a play for Robertson.

This was entirely about Tkachuk wanting out (not just of Ottawa, but the entire country) and the Sens wisely making the best deal they could sooner than later (while also sending him exactly where he wanted to go). We're still hoping Matthews or McDavid are next I suppose.

He's attending the University of Michigan to play for them this winter.

Obviously Squire didn't like the pick or the use of two picks to get that particular guy, but it's too early to know anything. Either way, it's not like the Flyers were going to be be able to use them to get a current NHL star.
