As of now, six draftees still unsigned: three HS kids, three college juniors.

High School Draftees: Crawford, Boyd, Rincon.
College Juniors: McFarlane, Wimmer, Karaffa.

We also don't know what they might have paid Ezra Farmer (UDFA high school signee).

Have to figure all 3 HS kids over slot though Crawford really should not be that much over. Rincon should not be that much but maybe they get close to the JC draft and follow max ($250K) since he committed to one of the better JC programs.

Boyd's offense is so raw I don't think they should go over $500K-$600K for him.

I think it is highly likely they are saving a bit to go over $125K on a few free agents also.

i was going to ask - any chance there is a surprise UDFA HS signing soon to be announced with the extra bonus money but maybe Ezra is the one.

They clearly need to get the Crawford bonus done before figuring out whether they have anything left over. Hopefully that is already done.

My assumption is that they got the underslots official first so nothing went wrong and they were suddenly above the threshold and losing picks. I wonder if McFarlane in the 4th round will be slightly overslot. He wasn't out of place by draft rankings, but he was shoving in the Cape Cod League (12.2 IP 7 H 1 ER 5 BB 16 K), including a 5 inning scoreless start (might have been relief) two days before the draft.

Gelb "kinda" disagrees with Callis. "Right around slot value" is arguably not inconsistent with what Callis reported - particularly if that phrase came from somebody in the Phillies' front office. I note that, after Gelb tweeted what he did, Zolecki chose to re-tweet Callis' tweet.

Callis works for MLB, and talks to agents. Gelb...repeats what he's told by the Phillies.

2. I politely disagree that “right around slot” or “close to slot” is functionally equivalent to 100k overslot in this system for someone whose full time job is covering an MLB team
