I probably rank Martin in the second 10 somewhere. He would be behind Garcia to me. Garcia is much more likely to stay at SS and if you give Martin credit for the 15 HRs then you probably have to give Garcia credit for dominating GCL at age 17. Lakewood is a tough place to hit. If Garcia at his age had hit .240 in Kannapolis because it is a much better environment for hitting we would not bat an eye and talk about a horrific season. It is also on the Phillies for keeping him at Lakewood all year.
It is hard to rank Martin without seeing more. Abel is actually a little easier because there has been no variation in his performance and scouting reports. They are all over the place on Martin. Martin probably starts in Lakewood next year too given his swing and miss history. He could move quickly if things come together, but I bet they take the slow route. So he'll be 3 years older than Garcia at the same level most likely. The tools make his deserve a ranking in the 10-15 range. Just need some performance to move him up. Most 3rd round picks would barely slot in the top 30, so top 15 is something.
