Either way we're getting ESPN Unlimited (including the + programming) access outside YTTV too. Cool that it would add the + programming to multiview capability, though in the end it's pretty rare I need ESPN+ (I think I added it back during the FCS playoffs last year but that was it. Hockey-wise I no longer need it for the Flyers).
In other news, MLS is no longer a paid add-on, will be included in Apple TV (which has also dropped the +). The deal has been reworked and shortened to accommodate the upcoming MLS schedule switch too. Apple's giving them more money in the short-term in part because there will be some extra games between '26 and '28. Next year, 2026, is normal, then in 2027 they will only play from February to May and award an MLS Cup and then '27-'28 will be first full year with new format.
Apple TV allegedly has 45 million subscribers (they say even more than that) which is around as much as the two biggest cable companies and YTTV combined. Can't imagine they had more than a few hundred thousand buying the MLS package (which MLS season ticket holders and other people also got for free).
