Give Crawford and Kemp to July to see if they're for real, give Marsh a chance to turn it around, see if Wilson can be the RH part of a platoon. Then think about making moves after the Allstar break.

Well yeah, that is what they are doing and what they will continue to be doing. They've barely been able to upgrade LF or CF in the off-season or at the deadline for the last three seasons, they aren't going to be able to do it in May or June this year either.

Pretty amazing: the Phillies are the only team that did not have a single pitching transaction, and used the same 13 pitchers, for all of April. The Braves used 22. The Dodgers used 11 different starting pitchers.

He looks like a guy who would be better than Hernandez too. He'll likely be behind Lazar but chances are we'll need multiple arms to rotate through the bullpen by the end of the year.

Yeah Hernandez may well clear. I didn't even realize the Phillies had an open 40-man spot. And clearly the Rangers did not.

Segura was listed as Fangraphs’ #21 prospect. Wild, decent K-rate. Robert, a RHP out of Auburn, has pitched decently in the minor leagues over 7 seasons with an ERA in the 3’s, high K-rate, average control. FB velocity recorded as 95. Had a cup of coffee with the Rangers last year. Looks like the Phils think he can help in the big leagues at some point this season.

But Trea Turner is playing shortstop the rest of the year because it is clearly the best thing for their team.

Then the Phils are accepting that their ss is gonna just kick a routine play now and then. IMHO he is only the #3 ss on the team. Could be a costly decision. Turner's speed could be an asset in LF, too. Ah, well...

If Kepler proves to be a consistent hitter, it'll be easier to carry. He looked all too much like Cave, Merrifield and Hays at first.

If they thought Segura was a legitimate SP prospect, they'd want a lot more than a marginal AAA plus RP.
At least an established ML middle inning RP.

Ranger's a real one. Though he's not really volunteering to do it now.

I sure hope it’s Walker who’s bumped from the rotation and not Suarez. Walker has performed admirably to start the season, but Ranger gives the team the better chance to win a game as a starter if he’s healthy.

Well, it's already a done deal. Either they are going to a six-man or Walker goes to the pen. Let's hope it falls into the "good problem to have" category. What might happen in October is a totally different situation since Ranger is not even the #3 starter right now (and Nola's the #4).
