Trump has Col. Vindman and his brother who also worked on the National Security Council fired and escorted out of the White House. He also has recalled Gordon Sondland, one of the three amigos in the Ukraine scandal, and he will not be re-assigned. He will be fired.
The revenge purge continues against anyone who dares speak truth to power and challenge this President's unethical and illegal conduct.
Everyone that testified in the House on the Ukraine scandal has either resigned, retired or been fired. Just like the FBI and DOJ purge during and after the Mueller investigation.
Ron Johnson, Senator from Wisconsin, and other Senators reportedly tried to intervene with the White House on firing Sondland because of course he is a large Republican donor who only got the EU Ambassador job because he gave $1M to Trump's inaugural committee. They failed, why would Trump listen to them now? They have given away all their power to this tyrant and bent over for all his corruption and lies. Did they try to intervene for true patriots like Vindman? Nope, dead silence and complicity as usual.
Meanwhile, Trump continues to pile up deficits at record levels due to his massive tax cuts for the rich & corporations and defense spending increases. His new budget again eliminates his prior goal of closing the deficit in 10 years, stating it will take 15 years. For the third year in a row, he has bailed on any type of fiscal discipline. Further exposure of the Republican multi-decade lie that they cared about a balanced budget. Yes, Bill Clinton was the last President to achieve a surplus and Democratic Presidents have largely been better stewards of the economy than Republicans - Reagan, George W and Trump have all cut taxes and increased spending; the first two resulted in economic downturns. Trump will likely be the same unfortunately for us all.
Trump's new budget also revives the disingenuous Paul Ryan playbook - implement massive deficits and then claim the only way to save the country and rescue our economy are cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, foreign aid and programs for the vulnerable (working poor, disabled, minorities etc.). Trump's budget calls for cuts in Medicaid, more cuts in food stamps, foreign aid, but adds more funds for his ineffective border wall.
